Psychodynamic therapy gives you time to reflect on the feelings you have about yourself and yourself in relation to others. Emphasis is placed on how unconscious past experiences affect present ways of feeling, thinking and being.
Therapy aims to assist recognition between unconscious feelings from your past and your present way of being. When you understand the link between the two, you may find yourself making decisions based on what you want or need now, rather than being driven by unresolved unconscious past experiences.
Psychodynamic therapy involves regular, 50-minute sessions on weekly basis, or more often if needed. The length of time can range for 6 sessions to open ended therapy, depending on what issues you would like to work through.
